Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), known locally as Sea-Tac, sits about 13 miles south of downtown Seattle and serves as Alaska Airlines’ largest hub.
One Main Terminal, Satellite Concourses
Sea-Tac is built around a central terminal with satellite concourses (North, South, and the International Arrivals Facility) reached by an underground train, so plan a few extra minutes to reach gates on the satellites.
Link Light Rail Runs Straight Downtown
The Link light rail station is about a seven to nine minute walk from baggage claim, reached via a skybridge on the fourth floor of the parking garage, and it runs directly into downtown Seattle in about 35 to 40 minutes for a flat fare.
Sea-Tac Is Seattle’s Only Major Airport
Like Boston, Seattle does not split commercial air traffic across multiple large airports, so Sea-Tac serves the entire metro area regardless of which neighborhood or suburb you are visiting.
