Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is the world’s busiest airport by passenger traffic and Delta’s largest hub, sitting about 10 miles south of downtown Atlanta.

Two Terminals, Domestic and International

ATL is split into a Domestic Terminal and an International Terminal roughly 2 miles apart by car, linked by a terminal-to-terminal shuttle. The MARTA station sits entirely inside the Domestic Terminal, so international arrivals connecting to transit need the shuttle first.

MARTA Is the Fastest Way Downtown

The MARTA Red or Gold line runs from the Airport Station to Five Points in downtown Atlanta in about 20 minutes for a flat $2.50 fare, generally faster and more predictable than a taxi or rideshare on I-85.

Delta’s Hub, But Not the Only Option

ATL’s size means enormous route choice, especially on Delta, though it is worth comparing connection times carefully since the airport’s scale can mean longer walks or train rides between distant concourses.
